Short-term and Long-term Rehabilitation
Recovering from a stroke or fracture, an individual will need a specialized type
of short-term care focused on the restoration of function, often combining
physical, occupational and speech therapies. This program helps former hospital
patients to return to independent living.
Long-term rehabilitation is for Amsterdam's residents who may have a functional impairment, chronic disease or dementia. A combination of therapies is prescribed to raise their level of comfort, and delay or even prevent further deterioration of their condition. These may include restorative or maintenance physical therapy, occupational, or speech therapy or a rehabilitation nursing program.
All physical and occupational therapists are from the world-renowned Hospital For Special Surgery and are on site full-time at Amsterdam. This means we have the best in the field working with our residents.
